2025 YEAR IN REVIEW
As 2025 comes to a close, we are proud to reflect on a year defined by momentum, collaboration, and a deep commitment to the Ambleside and Dundarave business communities.
It was a year that reminded us how much can be accomplished when local businesses, community partners, and residents work together toward a shared vision of vibrant, welcoming villages.
We were delighted to welcome new businesses into our neighbourhoods, including Graydon’s Cheese Cellar, Marilyn’s, Alrey Boutique, The Find and a pop-up location of Batch Ambleside. These additions brought fresh energy, craftsmanship, and flavour to our streets, further strengthening Ambleside and Dundarave as places people choose to visit, linger, and return to. Supporting a diverse and thriving business mix continues to be a cornerstone of our work.
Advocacy remained at the heart of the ADBIA’s efforts throughout the year. We continued to speak up for improvements that enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall experience of our commercial areas, including advocating for the immediate replacement of the Dundarave Median. At the same time, we consistently represented our members’ concerns around the negative impacts paid parking is having on local businesses, employees, shoppers, and visitors. Ensuring decision-makers understand how policy choices affect real people and small businesses remains an essential part of our role.
In 2025, we were also proud to co-host the BIABC Conference alongside the Lower Lonsdale BIA, welcoming delegates from more than 70 Business Improvement Areas across British Columbia. It was an incredible opportunity to showcase Ambleside and Dundarave on a provincial stage, share best practices, and foster meaningful connections with BIA leaders from communities large and small. Having so many delegates experience our neighbourhood firsthand reinforced the strength of our local business community and the value of collaboration across the province.
Community celebration was also a hallmark of 2025. Another highly successful Dundarave Hoedown brought neighbours together for a day filled with music, fun, and community spirit, reinforcing the importance of creating moments that connect people to place. We were equally proud to support Harmony Arts through ADBIA Night and Best of the West, recognizing the vital role arts and culture play in animating our streets and showcasing local talent.
The most significant milestone of the year was the successful renewal of the Ambleside Dundarave Business Improvement Association for another seven years. This renewal reflects the trust our members place in the organization and secures continued investment in advocacy, events, beautification, and business support well into the future. It is a shared accomplishment and a strong foundation as we look ahead.
As we move forward, we do so with gratitude and optimism. 2025 demonstrated the power of collaboration and the impact of showing up consistently for our community. We look forward to building on this momentum, welcoming new opportunities, and continuing to work together to ensure Ambleside and Dundarave remain vibrant, resilient, and thriving places for years to come.
Thank you all for your continued support of our local businesses!
