DUNDARAVE ANNOUNCEMENT

October 17, 2026

There is finally some good news to share for Dundarave, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

The new owners of the Dundarave development have agreed to open up spaces for pop-ups immediately, creating an opportunity to bring some much-needed life and energy back to the village while we wait for the development to move forward.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to the new property owners for recognizing the importance of the Dundarave situation and to Mayor Sager for his diligence and continued efforts supporting local businesses. We look forward to working with District staff and the new owners to make these spaces available for lease as soon as possible.

The premature closure of many of the shops and services in Dundarave has been difficult, not only for the nearby businesses, but also for the neighbours living in the community. Throughout these challenging years, the ADBIA has continued to do everything we can to support our members and find ways to keep our villages vibrant. It hasn’t always been easy, and we know the wait for redevelopment has been frustrating for everyone.

To our residents and loyal customers, thank you! Your continued support, your decision to shop locally, and your willingness to stand behind our independent businesses have meant more than you know.

Now, as we head into the holiday season, we have a real opportunity to bring something positive to Dundarave. We are hopeful these spaces will welcome pop-up shops, local artists, makers, creative entrepreneurs and other exciting ventures that give people more reasons to visit, explore and rediscover the village.

If you are interested in leasing a space or setting up a pop-up, please send an email and we will be happy to share information as it becomes available.

We know there is still a road ahead before the development gets underway, but this is an encouraging first step. Sometimes, it is the small things that make the biggest difference: a new shop window, a local artist sharing their work, a new reason to wander through the village, or a neighbour stopping for a coffee and a chat.

We are excited about what this could mean for Dundarave, and we look forward to working together to make it happen.

It really does take a village. And we are so grateful to be part of this one.

Shop local. Support local.
