Pay Parking in Ambleside

Thank you to the North Shore News for reporting on the impact pay parking could have on our local businesses if enforced in John Lawson Park and Dundarave Park.

The ADBIA has asked Council to direct staff to include us in the process of exploring pay parking close to our commercial areas. At the February 24th Council meeting, a recommendation was amended to include this request. We are working toward true collaboration with staff, the community, and our business members.

As we have said since the beginning, we are trying to be a part of the solution; not a part of the problem. For most of our businesses, parking for their customers is a priority. Currently, we are a community where retailers and services rely on customers from across the North Shore and Lower Mainland for their success and most of those customers travel by car.

The ADBIA will be conducting a brief survey in an upcoming newsletter for businesses, residents, and visitors to complete. We will share these findings with staff for their consideration and recommendations to Council as we move forward.
