Tree Lighting in Ambleside

As the evenings get darker, you may have noticed the new lighting in the trees along Marine Drive, Clyde Avenue and Bellevue in Ambleside.

The ADBIA first introduced tree lighting in 2022, and following the District’s spring pruning, we have taken the opportunity to refresh and upgrade the lights with softer, flexible string lighting that works with the trees and allows them to continue growing naturally.

For us, this is about more than simply adding a little sparkle to Ambleside. Good lighting plays an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable and safer commercial area, particularly during the long, dark winter evenings. A brighter streetscape encourages people to feel comfortable spending time in the area, whether they are heading out for dinner, shopping, meeting friends, walking home or finishing a shift at one of our many restaurants and hospitality businesses.

We know that our commercial areas are at their best when they feel active, welcoming and inviting, and creating a warm atmosphere after dark is one small but meaningful way we can help support that.

We are pleased to see Ambleside glowing again and hope the new lights bring a little warmth and brightness to our community.
